Aping Around !!!

Over the last few days each of the clans has been given the chance to visit Go Ape, the high ropes course just outside Aberfoyle.

The course is a series of wired crossings between the trees at an average of about 20 feet above ground level.

The course starts with an instruction from the tutors who teach us the skills we need in securing ourselves to the wires, before we are set off down a zip wire that runs 380 foot into the Achray Forest.

From that point on we are tested on our bravery with such obstacles as loose foot stirups and loose handrails (all totally safe of course).

The grand finale is the 420 Foot long zip wire that runs down over a 120 foot drop where you reach speeds of upto 20 mph. Enough to test the nerves of even the bravest leaders !!

As the Go Apers 'monkied' about in the woods, other clans were on their 3 Day hikes, 2 Day bike expos and the usual water activities took place.

The weather has not been on our side yet again with more rain but slightly less windy on the Loch.
